WHAT EXACTLY IS FUNCTIONAL FITNESS?
Functional Fitness is an approach to exercise that focuses on real-world applications of movement, such as daily living, work, or even athletics. The goal of functional exercise is to identify and address strengths and weaknesses in the body in order to prevent pain and injury and to optimize pain-free daily participation in the activities we enjoy. So whether you are a novice or an athlete, the focus will always be on function first.
WHAT TYPES OF HOME FITNESS EQUIPMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND?
Your personal home gym will be determined by your own goals and needs. It can be as simple as a pair of sturdy athletic shoes on a non-slip surface, or it can be a fully equipped space with a weight bench, cardio machines, and various forms of resistance. If you are brand new to fitness, I would recommend starting with a set of resistance bands and a set of resistance loops. Both are affordable and offer countless exercise options.
DO YOU OFFER PERSONAL TRAINING AT A GYM?
In our current climate, I offer options to train both outdoors and at one's personal residence or small gym, and in a manner that prioritizes the participant's health and safety. Regardless of where the training sessions are held, safety is paramount, and all equipment is thoroughly examined and sanitized prior to all appointments.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM AN ONLINE GROUP FITNESS CLASS?
The group fitness classes are designed for participants at all levels of fitness. Therefore, there will be options to intensify exercises and add resistance for a more advanced workout, but the classes will also be a safe and enjoyable way for a beginner to get started.
